Baptist Health South Florida, Medical Arts Building West Tower Fire Alarm System Replacement. 

Complete Replacement of existing 30 year old non-addressable Simplex fire alarm system in “Baptist Health South Florida MAB West Tower” located at 8950 SE N Kendall Dr. Miami Florida 33176 with a new addressable fire alarm system new intelligent fire alarm control panel, new remote annunciator, new initiating devices, new notification appliances, etc with voice annunciantion capabilities. This building is fully sprinklered, low rise and business occupancy (offices).

Existing fire alarm system will remain operational at all times during construction since new fire alarm system will be installed in parallel with the existing system.

All work in tenant spaces shall be done after hours.

Baptist Health South Florida, South Miami Hospital MAB Building Smoke Damper Repair System 

Building presently contains combination fire/smoke dampers which are not operational and need to be connected to the existing fire alarm system and Owner has identified areas where new combination fire/smoke dampers need to be added. Owner has also identified existing AHU motorized outside air dampers which are damaged beyond repair and require replacement. All work mentioned above shall be done under this project.

Existing fire alarm system will remain operational at all times during construction. Fire Alarm sequence of operation shall remain “as-is”.

Baptist Health South Florida, Town and Country Administration Building Fire Alarm System Upgrade. 

Electrical engineering/design to replace existing 30 year old non-addressable Simplex Grinnell Fire Alarm System (Fire Alarm Control Panel, Fire Alarm Annunciator panel, devices and wiring) with a new addressable fire alarm system with annunciation capabilities.

Design Completion Date: July 2012

Construction Completion Date: February 2014

Baptist Health of South Florida, Administrative Support Building Major sanitary piping modifications inside building, abandoned in-place existing septic tank and connected building sanitary system to main county sanitary pipe on SW 136 Street.

Plumbing Engineering design to prepare construction work sequence in order to eliminate or reduce construction work interference with normal building operations, prepare dust/odor/noise control drawings in order to prevent dust, odor and noise from construction work to contaminate other building areas, prepare drawings showing the connection of building sanitary system to existing County sanitary main on 136th street and Modify existing sanitary piping routing inside and outside building in order to isolate areas with collapsed or rusted piping.

Also, complete remodeling including new sanitary underground piping for 2 existing restrooms.

Design Completion Date: January 2011.

Construction Completion Date: February 2014

BHE Galloway Endoscopy Center HVAC Replacement 

Provided Mechanical, Electrical, Structural engineering/design services and ICRA drawings for the replacement of existing 7.5 ton DX split AC Unit and  30 Ton DX Packaged Rooftop AC Unit with new ones that serve the entire Endoscopy Suite. Also, new exhaust fan, associated supply and exhaust duct and electric duct heater were added to Endoscope cleaning room in order to eliminate unwanted odors.  Due to the replacement of the units new circuit breaker and new conduit and wire were necessary to feed new Fan Coil Unit from existing Panel C. New breaker was also required to connect new DX packaged Rooftop AC  Unit.

South Miami Hospital New Permanent Load Bank for Existing Generator 

Provided Electrical engineering and design services and ICRA drawings for the installation of a new permanent 250KVA, 208V, 3Ø Load Bank in a weather proof enclosure outside existing generator room connected to existing Emergency Switchboard “EDP”. A new 3-pole 800A circuit breaker and new conduits and wire were also installed in existing EDP. Existing normal power panels 2NLD1, 3NLD1 and 5NLD1 were transferred to generator power by adding a new 800A ATS, which was fed from main normal power switchboard on the normal side and Emergency Distribution Switchboard (EDP) on the emergency side. New breaker was required on the EDP to feed new ATS while existing breaker was re-used on the EDP.

The Hemispheres Condominium Association, Inc., Broward County Replacement of emergency generators in Ocean North & Ocean South Buildings

Mechanical and electrical engineering design for the replacement of 2-150 KW once through city water cooled emergency generators with 2-150 KW radiator cooled emergency generators.

This project required the addition of supply fans and associated ductwork in order to supply air to generator radiator and engine.

Design Completion Date: December 2007

The Hemispheres Condominium Association, Inc., Broward County Replacement of emergency generators in Bay North, Bay South and Mechanical Plant Buildings.

Mechanical and electrical engineering/design for the replacement of 2-150 KW and 1-250 KW once through city water cooled emergency generators with new ones same capacity but radiator cooled emergency generators.

This project required the addition of supply fans, louvers and associated ductwork in order to supply air to generator radiators.

The Hemispheres Condominium Association, Inc., Broward County Major HVAC Upgrades.

Design/engineering for the replacement of 42 existing – 100% O/A Primary air handling units with new larger ones with heat pipes, high efficiency filters, 54°F coil leaving air temperature and hot water reheat coils.

Design/engineering of major changes to 2 existing boiler plants such as boiler replacement and increase of 100 BHP capacity each.

Design/engineering of new automatic controls for chiller plant, AHU’s and boiler plants.

Design/engineering for the replacement of existing 11 AHU’s in the common areas and both Clubs with new similar ones.

Design/engineering for the replacement of 160 existing roof exhaust fans serving Apartment Bathrooms and Kitchens.

Design/engineering of new electric feeder to power new air handling units and new boilers.
